Synopsis
One of China’s biggest stars Ye Liu is Lao San, an ex-soldier mentally damaged in service who now vigilantly guards his neighbourhood with a superhuman dedication to the defence of his country, ‘All enemy ships after my punch will sink like a rock.’ Occupied early on with fleeting interventions like enforcing no smoking in a swimming pool and raiding a law-breaking pig butchers, Lao San soon takes on bigger protection challenges. When he is recruited as bodyguard to a wealthy antique collector, he is drawn into a scandal that undoes his invincibility.
